Description

A roguelike deckbuilder played on arcane tic-tac-toe boards. Collect volatile spell components and cursed relics to defeat the faculty in a replayable solo campaign, or hex your friends in online PvP.

History

Twist-tac-toe started life in early 2025 as a gameplay prototype of Ultimate tic-tac-toe. Encouraged by early feedback from local playtesting meetups, the Two Muffins founders spent the next few months researching and playtesting many different variations of tic-tac-toe. The team expanded mid-2025 when they brought on a 2D artist and animator, and the current design of the magical roguelike deckbuilder soon emerged. Music and sound design joined the crew late-2025, and they are all working towards a demo and final release in 2026.

Features

  • Arcane Deckbuilding: Collect and upgrade spells, components and relics.
  • Tactical Grid Play: Plan multiple moves ahead to out-position your opponents.
  • Randomized Ascent: Every run through the Twisted Tower reshuffles floors and faculty.
  • Immersive Experience: Hand-drawn 2D animations paired with an original modern score.
